Walk through practice this thursday at Hudson's Bay High School at 5:45. Be there were putting logos on helmets and gearing up for the game on sat.
Practice is heating up for the Vancouver Vipers. With the time dialing down before the offical season kicks off, the team is finally gearing up in protective gear. Jan 24 will be their first day of padded practice, and it seems to have been long awaited. Spirits are high in the Vipers Den, as new and old faces come together in hopes of building a bigger, stronger organization. Though the 2008 season wasn't exactly what the Vipers hoped it would be; they certainly seem hopeful for the 2009 season. Returning players such as Nick "Sticky" Crawford, Tim Gaston, Andrew Johnson, Ryan Cadwell, Jeremy Jones, Jon Mendes, Brian Migliaccio, Tim Williams, Ryan "Da Man" Saban and Owner Matthew Tefs look foward to the developing season ahead, and perform well with the new faces attempting to find a place, and home with the Vancouver Vipers. Along with these returners come's Antwoine Griffin Who seems to be in better health after last seasons injury to his right shoulder. Griffin only played in two season games in '08, but proved to be an impact player. With the Vipers "core" returners onboard for the 2009 season -- a playoff seat seems undoubtable.
Player Fees Half of your players fees are due on jan 20th, the other half is due feb 1st! For new players your fees are 200 dollars either paid by you or a sponsorship. Returning players your fees are 160, if you have sponsorship that is paying your fees it must be turned in by feb 1st no exceptions! I need time to get them put into our program and if they are a big sponsor time to get a patch made up. -------------------------------------------- Practice times practices are every saturday till the season starts at nautilus from 12:45 till 3:30 be on time and ready to go.
| OFL NEWS Storm placed off of the OFL Schedule for the 2009 season for Reorganizing and rebuilding. The Storm has placed 'on probation for one year to rebuild and restructured'. Reasons are as follows For the well being of the Storm organization, in hope that this is a year of rebuilding and reorganizing. For Strengthening of the OFL league as a whole. This is a difficult choice for the OFL to make, but one that we hope will bring the Storm organization to a stronger and better foundation. First and foremost is OFL's position for this 2009 season for the Storm is: "We have placed them 'on probation for one year to rebuild and restructured'. The last two years have been very difficult for the Storm. For the past two years, the Storm, have not been able to finish a full season of play in the OFL due to a variety of reasons. For this reason, all of the Board members of the OFL and OFL staff brought to the discussing table these issues in regard to this coming season. Thru much discussing the Board of Directors unanimously voted to place the Storm on probation for one year.... in the hope, the Storm will step back and reassess how to approach the organizational issues and how to best bring the Storm team and players up to a stronger position of football playing excellence. We want the Storm to succeed in being a good and viable form of football for its community and for the other communities across the State! We strongly feel that the Storm is and will be able to pull together and overcome its obstacles by taking this time to make stronger commitments, to become strongly rooted in its commitment to its community, to the OFL and itself. The Storm organization may post and open independent schedule if it so desires to do so with preseason or post season games within the league or may pick up a few games from outside the league; or the storm may wish to take this time to offer its players the choice to play within the league for other teams or a team. We regret having to make this hard choice because of the efforts that have been put forward to try and make things come together. We all want to extend a helping hand to assist in whatever may need to happen to help the Storms. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
